DRIFT

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 March 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DRIFT ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the DRIFT Jira app.

DRIFT is a Jira app that helps teams compare Jira issues against source requirements, review backlog alignment, and identify possible requirement drift.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to users of the DRIFT app and to customers who install the app into their Atlassian environment.

2. What information DRIFT processes

DRIFT may process the following information:

  • Jira issue data needed for validation, such as issue key, summary, description, project key, issue type, and status
  • Requirement content entered or imported by users into the app
  • Validation results generated by the app, including findings, timestamps, and review decisions
  • Technical logs and operational metadata made available through the Atlassian Forge platform

3. How we use information

We use this information to:

  • provide DRIFT's traceability and validation functionality
  • compare Jira issues with stored requirements
  • generate requirement extraction, review, and story-draft outputs
  • troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the app

4. Where data is stored

DRIFT stores application data using Atlassian Forge hosted storage.

If AI-assisted features are enabled, the app may send relevant issue and requirement content to the configured AI provider solely to produce extraction, review, or story-drafting outputs.

5. Third-party services

Depending on configuration, DRIFT may use:

  • Atlassian Jira Cloud and Atlassian Forge
  • Atlassian Confluence Cloud when page import is used
  • OpenAI or Anthropic when AI-assisted features are enabled by the customer or operator

6. Sharing of information

We do not sell personal information.

We may access customer data only as reasonably necessary to operate, support, secure, or debug the app. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the security, integrity, or rights of DRIFT, our users, or others.

7. Data retention

We retain app data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app and support customers, unless a longer period is required by law.

If you uninstall the app or want data deleted, contact us using the details below.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information processed by DRIFT. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International data handling

Because DRIFT runs on Atlassian Forge and may integrate with third-party services, information may be processed in locations used by those providers and their infrastructure partners.

10. Your choices and requests

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal data.

To make a request, contact us using the details below.
